BenQ has officially launched its W1070+ and W1080ST+ projectors here and they now come with massive price cuts from when it was first announced. The projectors were first announced locally back in November of last year and Malaysia was one of the first few in the region to get them.
BenQ claims that these DLP projectors can be used as a complete home entertainment package as it features cinema-grade image quality and an exceptional audio performance. The projectors can also be easily installed by users themselves and are great for places with limited spaces as it supports short-throw and Side Projection. The short-throw technology allows the W1080ST+ to project a 100” (diagonal) image/video with as little at 1.5 m distance between, and 2.5 m with the W1070+. The side projection on the other hand allows for off-center placement of the devices.
With its Cinema Color Reality picture performance, the projectors are capable of reproducing lifelike colours, deep blacks, and high contrasts. These Full HD capable devices also have high 2200 ANSI Lumen brightness rating. You can be sure of its video performance as well as it has received ISFccc (Certified Calibration Configuration) certification from the Imaging Science Foundation. This allows you to have the colour performance calibrated to fit the room that it is being used in.
“We foresaw a strong market demand growth for Full HD home projectors, Now, with our worldwide market leadership in the 1080p projector segment,* we aim to further fulfill that demand with more new models to come,” Chaw Foo Hong, General Manager of BenQ Malaysia said at the projectors launch, which took place at a home setting. “The W1070+ and the W1080ST+ are targeted at young parents seeking a fun and easy way to spend quality family time with their kids. These new-generation home video projectors are what we’ve worked hard toward bringing the simplest home cinema solutions into the homes of young families.”
The projectors have a built-in 10 W resonant chamber speaker that has been tuned for clear audio quality and deeper tones. There are 4 preset sound modes available, as well as an equaliser setting, to match the video/music that is being played. The projectors are also equipped with MHL port to stream from smart devices that supports it.
